Since
2005, Dr. Jena Questen, (already an experienced
veterinarian with several years experience working with
multiple species), has traveled across the
country to many veterinary conferences and workshops and
received advanced instruction on aquatic management
and disease identification.
In 2007 she and Scott
Eddy of Rman.com become the first state certified fish
health inspectors in the state of Colorado.
Her
greatest honor to date is her three year appointment to the
aquatics committee of the American Veterinary Medical
Association in July 2008, as the representative for aquatic
veterinarians in private clinical practice.
Dr. Questen is a
regular contributor to the monthly Rocky Mountain Koi Club
newsletter, and frequently speaks at events such as club
meetings, and shows.
She is often
retained as a legal expert in court cases involving
aquatics as well as domestic animals.
Currently Dr. Questen
is in the process of completing several research projects
with koi, and is currently the only veterinarian in the
United
States known to perform acupuncture on fish!
Her
expertise has helped many Koi pond owners across Colorado
through onsite evaluations, and many more throughout the
country with off site help through email and telephone
consultations.
